PLANORA

From demand to schedule: supply chain planning adapted to your flow type.

PLANORA is a multi-tenant planning system for discrete, batch, continuous, line and project production areas. Four modules run on PLANORA CORE (master data, flow type, integration, rule engine, scenarios/versions, plan data bus, KPIs, AI): Demand Planning, S&OP, Finite Capacity Planning and Machine Scheduling.

Advantages of using it digitally

  • Scenarios compared in seconds — decisions taken in the meeting.
  • Plan data bus: no copy-paste between modules.
  • KPIs are stored with each plan version.

How it works

The whole planning chain, from demand forecast to machine schedule, runs on one core — see instantly in the finite-capacity Gantt which work centre is full in which week.

  1. 1

    Generate a statistical forecast

For every item, candidate models (Holt-Winters, Holt, seasonal naive…) compete in a backtest; the winning model is stored with its rationale and WMAPE accuracy is measured.

PLANORA — Generate a statistical forecast
  2. 2

    Build demand consensus

On the demand workbench, sales, marketing and finance inputs are entered cell by cell; every override is tracked with a reason code and the approved version becomes the single plan flowing downstream.

    PLANORA — Build demand consensus
  3. 3

    Balance the S&OP

In the monthly S&OP cycle, approved demand is balanced against rough-cut capacity, inventory, coverage and finance; revenue, margin and demand fill rate appear in one table.

    PLANORA — Balance the S&OP
  4. 4

See the capacity plan in the Gantt

The work centre × week loading chart (Gantt) colour-codes the load of every cell; clicking an overloaded cell lists the operations to move, which you drag and drop onto constraint-compliant targets.

  5. 5

    Manage bottlenecks

The bottleneck report summarises overloaded cells, total capacity gap, unplaceable and late jobs per work centre; the decision to add overtime, shift production or cut demand returns to S&OP.

  6. 6

    Check material availability

The raw-material Gantt stacks weekly receipts, consumption and projected balance; weeks below minimum level or out of stock are highlighted.

  7. 7

    Schedule the machines

The machine-scheduling Gantt sequences every operation onto machine units with real start and finish times; on-time delivery, lateness, utilisation and the work order–operation chain are tracked on one screen.

Purpose

The goal is to close the planning gap between ERP and MES with a 29-dataset integration contract, in an architecture where every module is licensed separately and even a single-module installation works fully.

Key functions

  • M1 Demand Planning: hierarchical, approved demand plan
  • M2 S&OP: 3–18-month sales & operations plan
  • M3 Finite capacity planning and load balancing, bottleneck report
  • M4 Machine scheduling: Gantt and shift job lists
  • Scenario/version comparison and KPI framework
  • ERP–MES integration contract (29 datasets), ready link with OPERRA

Benefits

  • Feasible plans with capacity constraints built in
  • Delivery reliability and balanced inventory
  • Start with one module, grow without data migration
  • Planning knowledge moves from people to the system

Who is it for?

Production and supply chain planning teams; manufacturers with an ERP but no finite-capacity planning.
