About this metric

What is it?

A measure of workload balance across stations — line efficiency and balance delay.

How is it calculated?

Efficiency = total task time / (stations × cycle time); theoretical min stations = total task / cycle time.

How to interpret it?

Above 85% is good; low efficiency means idle capacity, waiting and uneven load.

How to improve it?

Redistribute tasks, split the bottleneck station, set standard work, balance with a yamazumi chart.

Measuring is the first step; lasting gains come from implementing together on the field.
