DELMIA Quintiq — Capacity Planning
Match demand to resources and capacity over the mid-to-long term
Quintiq Capacity Planning matches mid-to-long-term demand to machine, labor and site capacity, surfacing bottlenecks months ahead. It evaluates shift, overtime, subcontracting and investment options as scenarios to show the most economical way to meet demand.
How it works
Using rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP), it compares each resource's load to available capacity and color-codes over/under-load. The planner tests responses to a bottleneck (add a shift, pull work forward, subcontract); each scenario's capacity, cost and delivery impact is shown instantly and the best becomes the plan.
Core functions
- Rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP)
- Resource load vs. available capacity comparison
- Bottleneck analysis and critical resource detection
- Shift, overtime, subcontracting and investment scenarios
- Scenario comparison with cost-delivery trade-off
Benefits for organizations
- See and pre-empt bottlenecks before they occur
- Justify investment decisions with data
- Confidence and consistency in delivery commitments
- Reduce excess and idle capacity
- Optimize shift and overtime costs
Who is it for? Where is it used?
For capital-intensive, capacity-constrained manufacturers and process industries — production planning, industrial engineering and investment/budget teams. Especially valuable where demand volatility meets fixed capacity (metals, automotive, food, chemicals).
