What is DOE?
The classic 'one factor at a time' approach is slow and misses interactions. DOE varies factors together by plan, revealing both main effects and interactions with fewer trials. It is a core tool of Six Sigma's Improve phase.
Where it's used
Typical uses: process setting optimization, product/formulation development, defect reduction and robust design. With SPC: DOE finds the best setting, and SPC keeps that setting in control over time.
